24.11.2011 René Eder ended his Master Degree with distinction!
 

At the 14th of  November Oxford Brookes University distributed the results for the 2010/2011 Master Degree students. Attending the “Motorsport Engineering & Management” Masters course at Brookes René could end his study program with the overall award aim:  Distinction.

He is now eligible to use the MSc (Master of Science) title.

The official graduation ceremony will be held at Oxford Brookes University at some time in April 2012.

The main emphases during the Master program were on:

  • Vehicle Dynamics and Performance
  • Race Engineering
  • Laptime Simulation
  • Vehicle Aerodynamics
  • Data Acquisition and Analysis
  • Computation and Modelling
  • Final Dissertation work (Optimisation of a real life racing car)

As MSc in “Motorsport Engineering & Management” and his already extensive knowledge gained in the Motorsport field he is now searching for new projects, positions or possibilities in the racing world. Preferably this would be in the area of Prototype (e.g. LMP, DP…), NASCAR or Formula cars (e.g. Indy Car, F1, GP2…), but could be also with GT style race cars or high performance road cars.

He has a real passion for racing, a high level flexibility and is willing to travel where it needs to be to get the job done with success.

29.07.2011 Test days at Most, 27th & 28th July
 

René has recently been the technical manager of the Seat Leon Supercopa racing series, and through this has acquired a lot of experience with these vehicles. It was therefore logical that he would choose a Seat for his Master’s thesis. Werner Cvetko made his Seat Leon Supercopa GT available and the car was equipped with a complete STACK Ltd. Data System.

03.04.2011 Master’s Degree in Motorsport Engineering & Management
 

To top off his career, since September 2010 René Eder has been studying at Oxford Brookes University in England to get an MSc in Motorsport Engineering & Management.
Because not everyone can study in Oxford, he had to pass some entrance tests and fulfil the conditions of very good language skills and a thorough knowledge of motor sports. Even though he René never took ´A‘ levels, he was still accepted into this elite university. So far he has passed all his exams with good results and even a few distinctions. He is writing his thesis on the topic of Race Engineering, Data Acquisition and Analysis, and Laptime Simulation.

 
15.09.2010 Project car Seat Leon “Super Copa Edition”

After being completed and thoroughly inspected, the car is now for sale! This vehicle is unique and is not available in stores in this configuration!

Information about the Seat Leon Supercopa Edition:

The vehicle was put together by René Eder, Technical Director of the Seat Leon Supercopa racing series, using and based on the components of the Supercopa racing car.
As a basis a Seat Leon “FR” Edition was used (1P/Top Sports model) new edition with a BWA engine and a DSG gearbox. The features are shown in the attached list of vehicle data.
All components used are available as original parts on the market or from the Seat Leon Supercopa Parts service.The “BHZ” engine used is from the Seat Leon Supercopa racing car and can be easily maintained, is durable and can be serviced at any VW / Audi repair shop.

The engine run in and tuned on a stationary engine test bench, and then the whole system was tested on a chassis dynamometer. The KW suspension has been adjusted for sporty use of the vehicle (height, camber and track).
All components and alterations have been tested in the basic inspection and no changes required. (Only the performance was not fully measured).  more »

 
25.04.2010 Season opener of Seat Leon Supercopa 2010 Hockenheim
 

Finally it was again time to open the racing season for the Seat Leon Supercopa.  It promised to be an exciting weekend, with a lot of “NEW” (Rookies), many friends and an ambitious Thomas Marshall who wants to win again this season. In the first race on Saturday, the South African Shane Williams won, with Damian Sawicki in second place and Petr Fulin third.

In the latest edition of ‘AutoBild Motorsport’ there is an interesting report on the René Eder’s work as technical director of the Seat Leon Supercopa Cup. He shows rookie Philip Frommenwiler in one lesson where he can improve.

25.10.2009 Hockenheim: Last race of the Seat Leon Supercopa
 

The season’s winner of the Seat Leon Supercopa had already been decided at Dijon Prenois.  ”Mr. Markenpokal” Thomas Marshall. With his fifth win of the season for the Black Falcon team, he is now a 3-times Seat Leon Supercopa Champion.

Seat Leon Supercopa, Norisring in Nürnberg 26th-28th June, 2009

For the race weekend in Nürnberg, DTM race driver Christian Abt was scheduled for scarlet Club-Seat.  As always, everything was superbly prepared and the whole team was hopeful that with Christian Abt they could bring home the cup.

ADAC 24h Race Nürburgring-Nordschleife 21.-24. May 2009

The 37th ADAC 24 hour race on the Nordschleife in the Eifel once again attracted a lot of racing fans from all over the world to Nürburg.  At last the brand new Audi TT of the Norwegian team, “Moller Bil” was ready to start. After weeks of preparation and testing, including in the Audi wind tunnel at Ingolstadt, the Bolide now had to prove itself in a race.
